Ayesha Curry has stood by her husband’s side every step of the way. Golden State Warriors superstar Steph Curry himself would be the first to admit that he would not be where he is today had it not been for the unwavering support of his better half.

Ayesha Curry celebrated her 37th birthday on Monday. The greetings poured in from fans and friends alike. However, it was Steph Curry’s emotional message that stood out. The former back-to-back NBA MVP got deeply personal in his birthday greeting to his wife, prompting an equally strong and passionate reaction from the birthday celebrant.

Steph and Ayesha Curry first met as teenagers, but it wasn’t until a few years later, in 2008, that they started dating. Steph Curry proposed in 2010, and they got married a year later.

They welcomed their first child, Riley, in July 2012. The couple now has three more kids: Ryan, 9, Canon, 7, and Chai, 1.

Steph Curry’s birthday message focused on how Ayesha Curry continues to grow as a person by pursuing her personal goals. At the same time, however, she remains a devoted wife and mother.

“Happy birthday to the one that makes this whole thing work!” the Warriors guard wrote on Instagram. “This past year has been one of my favorites. The determination to go after what you want. The grind and work behind the scenes. Stepping into new versions of you with courage that inspires me every day. I love it all.

“You don’t play when it comes to our family. Our kids know you always show up and have their back no matter what. With the biggest heart I know. We are lucky and We love you! @ayeshacurry.”

Ayesha Curry responded to her husband’s heartfelt message by sharing the post on her Instagram stories, which included an equally emotional caption.

“Mi love yuh bad yuh see,” she wrote.

Ayesha Curry’s message is in Jamaican Patois. It loosely translates to “I love you so much, you know that.” She is of Jamaican heritage through her mother.

Ayesha Curry’s response was short and sweet, but it was a pure expression of her deep love for her husband.
