When it comes to NBA families, none are more interesting than the Ball family. The dad, LaVar, used to make headlines all the time for his outlandish, wildly controversial takes.

The eldest son, Lonzo, was drafted 2nd by the Lakers in the 2017 draft. And while he is no star, his talents as a defender and playmaker have easily made him one of the NBA's most sought-after point guards.

Meanwhile, for LaMelo (the youngest of the Ball brothers), he's coming off a spectacular rookie season, in which he averaged 15.7 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 6.1 assists per game on 43% shooting.

Unfortunately for LiAngelo, (the middle child of the bunch), he has not yet entered the NBA sector. After playing a short stint overseas, he has failed to generate interest from professional teams and remains out of the limelight for now.

But, according to Sports Illustrated’s Ron Boone, that could soon be about to change.

Allegedly, LiAngelo is on the brink of officially joining the Hornets, setting up a reunion between him and his brother, LaMelo, who used to play for BC Vytautas.

LiAngelo Ball, the brother of rookie of the year LaMelo Ball, is expected sign with the Hornets and be on their summer league roster when it’s finalized, league sources told SI.com’s All Hornets. The move is on track to happen as the team prepares to fully assemble its roster and depart for summer league in Las Vegas from August 8-17.

Playing in the league’s summer showcase next month could provide Ball, 22, with the opportunity he needs to jumpstart his career.

Ever since LiAngelo's shoplifting incident, which led to his departure from UCLA, his chances of making the jump to the NBA have seemed remote at best.

LaMelo's presence has undoubtedly helped situate his brother for one last chance to make the league, and it remains to be seen if Gelo has what it takes to stay long-term.

Either way, it's an exciting time for the Ball family and the NBA as a whole, as the reunion between the two brothers will no doubt provide us with some entertaining moments.
