Bam Adebayo takes blame for Heat's Game 5 loss to Celtics

The Boston Celtics extended their season on Friday night with a 121-108 win over the Miami Heat. While the Celtics didn't start out so great, they were able to regroup and keep their NBA Finals hopes alive.

The Heat could've closed out the series, but they didn't play their best. While no specific player should be blamed for the loss, Bam Adebayo believes he could've played much better in Game 5.

"I played like s—t, bottom line," Adebayo told reporters after Game 5. "I can't — I put that game on me. It's not my teammates' fault, it's not my coaches' fault. Just me."

The 23-year-old continued to say he missed too many shots that he could've made. Entering Game 5, Adebayo was averaging 21.5 points per contest on nearly 60 percent shooting in the conference finals. On Friday, Adebayo shot 45.5 percent from the field and finished with 13 points.

While his shooting was subpar, Adebayo also acknowledged that his defense wasn't great either. He admitted that he felt a step behind.

With another chance to clinch a spot in the NBA Finals on Sunday, Adebayo revealed that he'll be in the gym while also reviewing film to make sure he doesn't make the same mistakes twice.
