Ben Simmons Is Set To Make His Nets Debut Against The 76ers In Preseason
Vincent Carchietta-USA TODAY Sports

Ben Simmons will make his Nets debut against his former team.

Ben Simmons is one of the best defensive players in the league, and a top-tier playmaker and slasher. Though he isn't the best scorer, it is clear that the things he does provide on the court make him an impactful player. Though he didn't play during the 2021-22 season due to a back injury, he averaged 14.3 PPG, 7.2 RPG, and 6.9 APG for the Philadelphia 76ers during the 2020-21 season.

It seems as though the Brooklyn Nets fans will get to see Ben Simmons in action soon. Nets insider Kristian Winfield has recently revealed that Ben Simmons will make his Nets debut against his former team, the Philadelphia 76ers.

Ben Simmons will make his Nets debut tomorrow against the 76ers.

There is no doubt that this debut will be interesting to watch not just for Nets fans, but for the fans of the NBA as well. We will see how Ben Simmons ends up doing when matched up against his former team.

The Brooklyn Nets Will Be Contenders With Ben Simmons

The Brooklyn Nets definitely have a lot of talent on their roster as of right now, with a Big Three featuring Ben Simmons alongside elite scoring duo Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant. They also have some solid role players such as Seth Curry and Joe Harris on the roster.

The team did not have their complete roster last season due to Ben Simmons and Joe Harris being injured. Kevin Durant has recently claimed that he'd like to see the team "in full" as they haven't been "healthy at all" over the course of the last two seasons.

"When you look at the grand scheme of things, we haven't been healthy at all for two years. Each playoffs we didn't have major guys ... So when you got $50 million dollars on your bench this last playoffs with Joe and Ben ... I want to see what our team looks like in full."

Hopefully, we do see the Brooklyn Nets have a good season and have some luck with their health. The team definitely has a high ceiling, but they will have to put in the work to develop chemistry and cohesiveness during the regular season.

Ben Simmons will be key for the Brooklyn Nets on both ends of the floor, but particularly on the defensive end. He'll be key for guarding forwards such as Giannis Antetokounmpo and Jayson Tatum, and the team will hope that his defense is as good as ever.
