While LeBron James is currently in the midst of the greatest of all time debate from many pundits, he’s still facing a dilemma next season – his next possible destination. Three teams are constantly mentioned: the Lakers, the Cavaliers, and the Warriors.
If it’s about earning more, then resigning with Los Angeles is a no-brainer. They could realistically offer him 50 million plus per year in the summer. Golden State can do around 15 million a year, a far drop from LA’s number. The outlier would be Cleveland because all they could do is a three-million deal. Will LeBron James truly shun LA to play elsewhere? Bill Simmons believes so, and he’s convinced it would be with the Dubs.
“This one is a really fun one because the Warriors is really in play now, like for real. I really feel like if I had to bet my life on a team, I’d think I would bet on them . . . I think that would be the move for me,” Bill Simmons said about where LeBron James would land next season.

If that happens, then LeBron James would team up with Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, and Jimmy Butler. While that may be a superteam in everyone’s eyes, it’s important to note that all four gentlemen are beyond 35 years old. Can their old legs hang around with the likes of San Antonio and Oklahoma City, especially in the postseason?
Simmons’ hunch isn’t without narrative, though. There have been legitimate reports of James joining the Warriors in the past. To add fuel to the fire, Dubs superstar Stephen Curry is reportedly set to meet up with LeBron James before the free agency period.
“League sources telling us at ClutchPoints that the Warriors are very much open to pursuing LeBron James and they plan to do so this offseason in free agency… LeBron, at the end of his career, he could still contribute a high level, we saw that in the playoffs. Pairing him with Stephen Curry is going to be something that the Warriors look to pursue over the next few weeks… It seemed very doubtful, it seemed low percentage, now it’s kind of questionable,” according to a report by Brett Siegel.
At 41, LeBron James is still a coveted figure in the NBA. Now, that speaks volumes about his place in basketball’s history.
