The Houston Rockets added a much-needed shooter on Tuesday after acquiring Bogdan Bogdanovic in free agency.

Bogdanovic spent last season with the Los Angeles Clippers, although he barely played due to a hamstring injury.

ESPN’s Shams Charania reported Bogdanovic’s big move to the Rockets.

“Free agent Bogdan Bogdanovic has agreed to a one-year deal with the Houston Rockets, sources tell ESPN. Rockets executives recruited Bogdanovic tonight and now land an established, playoff-tested shooter for his 10th NBA season,” wrote Charania on X.

In 23 games this season, the 33-year-old guard averaged career-lows of 7.4 points, 34.7% shooting from long range, 2.6 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 19.7 minutes.

A fresh start in Houston could help Bogdanovic regain his old form.

The Clippers acquired the sniper from Serbia, along with three second-round picks, in a midseason trade with the Atlanta Hawks in 2025, sending Terance Mann and Bones Hyland in exchange. Bogdanovic, however, saw his role diminish under coach Tyronn Lue.

With the Rockets, Bogdanovic could be used as a spark plug off the bench, joining Reed Sheppard and Tari Eason in the second unit. Houston was among the worst three-point shooting teams this season, only averaging 11.5 makes. The addition of Bogdanovic could help solve that.

With the options in free agency getting thinner by the day, Houston was fortunate to land a proven scorer. He is not too shabby on defense as well.

Bogdanovic will join a backcourt that also features Sheppard, Fred VanVleet, Amen Thompson, Aaron Holiday, and Josh Okogie.

VanVleet recently picked up his player option to stay with the Rockets.
