For the ninth time this season, the Minnesota Timberwolves scored 130 or more points as they completely demolished the Milwaukee Bucks, 139-106.
While they improved to 7-2 when scoring at least 130 points, they did so on Tuesday night without leading scorer Anthony Edwards, who was out with right foot injury maintenance following a busy stretch of games for Minnesota (27-14), and center Rudy Gobert, who was suspended one game for picking up too many flagrant fouls under the NBA's points system.
Forward Julius Randle led the team with 29 points (12-of-18 FG), but it was fifth-year guard Bones Hyland who impressed the most off the bench with 23 points (9-of-16 FG, 5-of-7 3PT), five assists and zero turnovers in only 21 minutes.
Hyland logged an impressive plus-minus of 41 in those 21 minutes of playing time. According to The Athletic's Aaron Gleeman, that is the most in Timberwolves history for any player off the bench.
Bones Hyland played 21 minutes and was +41, the most in Timberwolves history for any player off the bench.

Furthermore, as The Athletic's Jon Krawczynski pointed out, Hyland became the third player in franchise history with at least 20 points, five assists and zero turnovers off the bench.
Bones Hyland: 23 points, 5 assists, 0 TOs and a +41 in 21 minutes. Third Wolves player ever off the bench with 20+ points, 5+ assists and 0 TOs.

Hyland is only averaging 6.4 points, 2.5 assists and shooting 44 percent on the season, so to say his performance Tuesday night was unexpected would be an understatement.
However, with two of Minnesota's key players on the bench the entire game, Hyland took full advantage of the opportunity. This corner three gave him a season-high 20 points just over two minutes into the fourth quarter.

As a team, the Timberwolves shot an efficient 60 percent (55-of-92) from the floor and went 52 percent (22-of-42) from deep in a wire-to-wire win over a Bucks team (17-23) that suffered its second straight loss to a shorthanded team after falling to the Denver Nuggets on Sunday.
As bad as that might sound if you are a Bucks fan, you cannot discredit the job this Timberwolves team did on the road without Edwards and Gobert. It was a slow start out of the gates for Minnesota, but after winning six of its last seven games, it appears to be hitting its stride at the season's halfway point.
Having Edwards and Gobert on the floor is a must for the Timberwolves to be legitimate contenders, but at least for Tuesday night, it did not matter as Hyland put together a historic performance and Minnesota's supporting cast shot lights-out.
