Boston sportswriter Bob Ryan rips Kevin Durant in profane rant

Almost immediately after 12-time All-Star Kevin Durant requested a trade away from the Brooklyn Nets in late June, some linked him with the Boston Celtics in mock transactions that landed Brooklyn All-Star forward Jaylen Brown, among other assets, in return.

No such transaction occurred, and Durant and the Nets are now on track to "move forward with our partnership" presumably until the two-time NBA champion and two-time NBA Finals Most Valuable Player again becomes unsettled.

During a recent interview, Hall of Famer Charles Barkley offered some heavy criticism of Durant and said that he calls the 33-year-old "Mr. Miserable" because "he’s never going to be happy." Per Jenna Lemoncelli of the New York Post, Boston Globe legend Bob Ryan went even further when ranting about Durant not joining the Celtics during an edition of the "Bob Ryan & Jeff Goodman NBA Podcast."

"Screw him," Ryan said of Durant. "I don’t need him. I’m happy. I don’t want to win with him.

"I want to root for this group right here that we have seen assembled and grow. Now that we’ve added [Malcolm] Brogdon.. I love this team. I don’t want to win with that s--- head and I think he is one, frankly… I don’t want to win with this guy. Screw him. No."

Ryan, 76, was probably glad to see that only one Western Conference executive of 15 NBA coaches, scouts and executives recently asked for an ESPN offseason survey predicted that Durant will be with the Celtics one day after the winter trade deadline.
