Bradley Beal could have mutual interest with interesting team

The Phoenix Suns appear to be moving toward a resolution with guard Bradley Beal, and it could see him land with a team he has long been linked to.

Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald suggested that the Miami Heat could pursue Beal if the Suns buy him out. He cautioned, however, that a team like the Milwaukee Bucks could be more desperate to land Beal than the Heat would be.

The Heat were rumored to be one of the teams Beal would have accepted a trade to last season. His salary was an impediment to any deal, but if Beal is bought out, as is increasingly likely, that would become much less of an issue for Miami.

We know the Heat have tried to be aggressive this offseason, though they do not have much to show for it yet. Beal may not be the headliner they were trying to land, but he still shot 38.6 percent from three-point range last season. Injuries have been an issue, but a change of scenery could be beneficial for Beal.

The Heat went just 37-45 last year and have suffered consecutive first-round playoff exits. They will have to decide if Beal is the sort of player that can push them deeper into the playoffs, where they aspire to be.
