Bradley Beal is eyeing four potential destinations as he prepares to hit the open market. According to NBA insider Fred Katz of The Athletic, the veteran guard is interested in joining the Los Angeles Clippers, Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Lakers, or Milwaukee Bucks.
Beal is expected to finalize a buyout agreement with the Phoenix Suns soon, which would make him an unrestricted free agent.
“The Suns and Beal are increasingly optimistic that the two sides will agree to terms on a buyout, league sources tell The Athletic,” Katz reported. “The move would make Beal an unrestricted free agent. … According to a league source, the list of teams Beal has thought about includes the LA Clippers, Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Lakers and Milwaukee Bucks.”
Beal appeared in 53 games for Phoenix last season, averaging 17.0 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 3.7 assists while shooting an efficient 49.7% from the field, 38.6% from three-point range, and 80.3% from the free-throw line. The 32-year-old was acquired by the Suns in 2023 after spending 11 seasons with the Washington Wizards.
A three-time All-Star, Beal has played in 801 career games with the Wizards and Suns. He holds career averages of 21.5 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 4.3 assists, shooting 46.4% from the field, 37.6% from beyond the arc, and 82.1% from the free-throw line.
Despite Phoenix’s high expectations with a core of Beal, Kevin Durant, and Devin Booker, the team failed to win a single playoff game during their time together. The Suns were swept by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first round of the 2024 playoffs and missed the postseason entirely the following year.
Beal has yet to reach the NBA Finals in his career and has never advanced to the conference finals.
Among the teams on his radar, the Clippers, Lakers, and Bucks were all eliminated in the first round of the 2025 playoffs, while the Warriors reached the conference semifinals before being eliminated.
