Bradley Beal’s status in doubt for Suns vs. Wizards after suffering another injury

Many times this season already, Phoenix Suns star Bradley Beal’s name has popped up on the injury report and left the team without one of their most important players.

It has done so yet again.

With 5:53 left in the third quarter of the Suns’ 122-117 loss to the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday, Beal went to collect a rebound and tweaked his left ankle as he landed. While he did come back after limping when heading to the locker room, he is now listed as doubtful for Phoenix’s upcoming matchup against the Washington Wizards on Thursday, according to the NBA’s injury report.

Missing 10 games this year, the three-time NBA All-Star has already sustained a left hip contusion, right knee swelling, left calf strain and an elbow injury.

Over the past six games, Beal has transitioned from being a solidified starter to a rotation player coming off the bench. When healthy, the Missouri native has averaged 17.5 points, 3.6 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.1 steals in 29 games (23 starts).

As for the rest of the injury report between Washington and Phoenix, some prominent names are out for both teams.

Jusuf Nurkić is set to miss his third straight game for the Suns as he is dealing with an illness. All ruled out, Malcolm Brogdon has a plantar fascia contusion on his right foot and is day-to-day while Marvin Bagley III (right knee sprain) and Saddiq Bey (left ACL surgery) both don’t have a timeline for a return.

For the first time this season, the Suns and Wizards clash inside Capital One Arena in Washington D.C. at 5 pm MST.
