Brandon Ingram joined the Toronto Raptors in February 2025. He has not played a game, but they believed in him enough to sign him to an extension. Ingram himself believes in the project, as he predicts a postseason run.
The Toronto Raptors underwent a huge change in the offseason with Masai Ujiri’s exit. They are firmly in a new era now, which includes star player Brandon Ingram. That does not mean Scottie Barnes is out as the cornerstone, but he has a true All-Star-level player alongside him now.
The Raptors organization immediately embraced Ingram with a three-year contract worth $120 million. He is repaying their trust by committing to the team and believing in the team’s potential.
The Raptors had a disappointing 2024-25 season, only mustering a 30-52 record. Despite that record, they almost reached the Play-In Tournament, as they were 11th in the standings. Of course, Ingram was not present on the roster, considering he was dealing with an injury.
Ingram will return in the 2025-26 season, so he is ready to help the team. He will be a fantastic addition to the team, providing go-to scoring and reliable playmaking. Ingram is a good complementary piece to Scottie Barnes, who will have more freedom to attack. Ingram has been ready for a while, but he looks forward to helping the team.

With players like RJ Barrett and Immanuel Quickley on the Raptors roster, this team could surprise people. Ingram believes that, as he feels the Raptors are on their way to the Playoffs in the 2025-26 season.
“We’re making the Playoffs. We’re trying to build championship habits. What I saw is that they play hard. They play really, really hard on the offensive and defensive end,” Ingram said to the media.
“They already found their identity on the defensive end, and I can’t come in and mess that up. I gotta be playing as hard as them.”
Due to the Eastern Conference not being as good as in previous seasons, the Raptors could be a surprise team. They could take advantage of a Boston Celtics team without Jayson Tatum or an Indiana Pacers team without Tyrese Haliburton.

The Achilles injuries have ruined multiple teams’ chances, but it could mean other teams will capitalize. Toronto has a team that could do that, especially with Ingram playing for the Raptors. Most people know Barnes is the star, but having a strong supporting cast could shock people.
Basketball fans should realize that the Raptors can compete again. They have a good coach and stars who could become All-Stars like Ingram and Barnes. If they find the right mix like Ingram believes, the Raptors could be in the postseason.
