Brian Windhorst Names Team He Believes Will Land Kevin Durant

ESPN insider Brian Windhorst has identified the Minnesota Timberwolves as the frontrunners to acquire Kevin Durant from the Phoenix Suns.

In a recent segment on "Get Up," Windhorst highlighted Minnesota's aggressive pursuit of the 15-time All-Star, noting their significant efforts during midseason trade talks.

Despite Durant's preference for teams like the Miami Heat, San Antonio Spurs, and Houston Rockets, Windhorst believes the Timberwolves' tenacity could sway the deal.

He emphasized that the Timberwolves have been the most proactive, even as other teams like the Toronto Raptors and the Los Angeles Clippers lurk in the background.

The Suns, however, remain focused on securing the best possible return, regardless of Durant's preferences.

With Durant's contract expiring and his value still high, the Timberwolves' willingness to make bold moves positions them as the likely destination.

This potential trade could reshape the NBA landscape, particularly in the Western Conference, where Durant's addition would bolster the Timberwolves' championship aspirations.

Even at 36 years of age, Durant has shown that he still has a lot left in the tank, coming off a season in which he averaged 26.6 points per game on a remarkable 52.7% shooting from the field.

Coming off of back-to-back Western Conference Finals appearances, the Timberwolves appear to be all in on landing Durant this offseason.

As negotiations intensify, all eyes are on the Timberwolves to see if they can finalize the deal and potentially pair Kevin Durant and Anthony Edwards together in what would be a bonafide superstar tandem.
