Bronny James's basketball journey took an unexpected turn last summer when he suffered cardiac arrest during a USC team workout. The incident cast a long shadow over his lone college season with the Trojans. Fortunately, the young guard bounced back, ultimately achieving his NBA dream when the Lakers selected him 55th in the second round of the NBA Draft. While the rookie guard has bounced between the NBA and G League this season, he's shown steady improvement, particularly in his last eight G League appearances where he's consistently scored in double figures.
Now, his younger brother Bryce is writing his own chapter, taking a different path towards his NBA dream. Choosing to leave his home in Los Angeles, the younger James has officially committed to Arizona's 2025 class with a simple Instagram announcement: "100% committed."
The 6-foot-6 Sierra Canyon standout chose the Wildcats over offers from Ohio State and Duquesne, bringing solid shooting credentials to Tucson. During last spring's Nike EYBL circuit with Strive For Greatness, Bryce averaged 6.9 points and 2.2 rebounds while shooting 36.8% from three-point range across 14 games.
In response to the positive news, Bryce's older brother Bronny posted a congratulatory message on X to mark the occasion:

While Bronny stayed close to home at USC before joining their father in purple and gold, Bryce's decision to head to Arizona suggests he's focused on charting his own course to the NBA.
With LeBron hinting at playing until at least 2026 - when Bryce could be draft-eligible - the possibility of three James men sharing an NBA court remains alive. But for now, Bryce seems focused on following his own path, choosing development in Tucson over staying close to home.
