'Brunson kept saying, 'I want Dick. I'll take Dick'' - Josh Hart playfully mocks Jalen Brunson for guarding Gradey Dick

NBA players might be professional athletes at the highest stage of their craft, but that doesn't mean they are not humans. More often than not, they can even be pretty funny and have the same comedic taste as us fans.

The best example of that came after last night's game between the New York Knicks and Toronto Raptors. Josh Hart would have some pretty interesting post-game thoughts, clowning his buddy and teammate Jalen Brunson for guarding Gradey Dick.

"Second half, Jalen Brunson kept saying, 'I want Dick. I'll take Dick,'" Hart said.

Most unique last name in the NBA

The Raptors' first-round pick in the 2023 NBA Draft definitely caught the attention of the NBA world last season due to his interesting name. As such, Dick has been a center of jokes, best remembered for his iconic jersey swap with Orlando Magic guard Anthony Black.

However, Gradey has proved he is more than just a meme favorite this season. The 6'6'' shooting guard has averaged 18.4 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game on 41.9 percent from the floor and 35.3 percent from deep.

The Kansas product didn't have the best showing against the Knicks, scoring just seven points and six rebounds on 3-11 shooting. Maybe the lockdown defense from Brunson, which Hart was referring to, played a part in slowing down Dick.

You can joke when you win

Josh and the New York squad were obviously in high spirits after the win, which propelled them to 15-9 on the season. Karl Anthony-Towns led the way with 24 points, 13 rebounds, and six assists, and Mikal Bridges complemented him with 23 points.

Hart and Brunson weren't only cracking jokes, but they also made their contribution on the floor. Jalen would end up with 20 points, 11 assists, and four rebounds, while JH notched ten points, four rebounds, and three assists.

In what was the only NBA game of the night, the Knicks solidified their position as the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference. New York has been consistently good on both ends of the floor and is making a case as one of the contending teams in the EC.

A big part of their winning culture has been the chemistry and camaraderie between their stars, as this instance between Brunson and Hart is the perfect example of teammates being just your regular bros.
