Bucks can target veteran with almost 15,000 points ahead of NBA trade deadline (Report)

The NBA trade deadline is getting closer and closer, and the Milwaukee Bucks appear to be one of the top teams to watch out for heading into February. 

Much has been said about the possibility of Milwaukee moving superstar forward Giannis Antetokounmpo, although he has already stressed that he wants to stay. 

Meanwhile, Milwaukee’s great financial flexibility at the moment makes them an intriguing team for others looking to unload some expensive assets.

On that note, Milwaukee has been linked to some names, including former top NBA draft pick Andrew Wiggins.

It’s where rival executives see the biggest chance for opportunity in Milwaukee. The Bucks can accept a larger contract with multiple years beyond this season that an opposing team might be trying to get out from under, such as Miami’s Andrew Wiggins, who owns a $30 million player option for next season, or Charlotte’s Miles Bridges, who will make $22.8 million in the 2026-27 season, team and league sources told ESPN.

Wiggins to the Bucks?

The 30-year-old Wiggins is currently playing for the Miami Heat, and he has a player option for the 2026-27 NBA season worth $30.1 million. The Bucks could take on his contract without dipping into either tax apron, so Miami could look in Milwaukee’s direction if the Heat wants to move on from Wiggins by the trade deadline. 

A former NBA All-Star with the Golden State Warriors, with whom he also won an NBA championship in 2022, Wiggins could provide consistent scoring for the Bucks, especially when Antetokounmpo is off the floor.

At the time of this writing, the former Kansas Jayhawks star Wiggins has 14,753 career points in the NBA.
