The Milwaukee Bucks have been busy reshaping their roster this offseason. After locking in their young core, the franchise brought in several veterans to add depth and experience. One major move included trading away Pat Connaughton to the Charlotte Hornets, effectively ending his seven-year run with the team. In his place, the Bucks signed 11-year NBA veteran Gary Harris in free agency, continuing their push to build a strong postseason-ready rotation.

Harris, who last played for the Orlando Magic, agreed to a two-year deal with the Bucks, with a player option in the second year. Once a starter for the Denver Nuggets, the 6’4” guard has taken on more of a reserve role in recent seasons.

Harris' playoff experience also stands out. He's appeared in 39 postseason games, mostly as a starter.

General Manager Jon Horst didn’t hold back when expressing his thoughts on the signing. “Gary’s leadership and experience will provide further depth and stability to our backcourt, and his extensive playoff background will be instrumental during the postseason,” Horst said. “We are thrilled for Gary to be a Buck.”

The signing comes amid rumors that Harris may serve as a third-string shooting guard behind Kevin Porter Jr. and Gary Trent Jr., or even shift to small forward behind Kyle Kuzma and Taurean Prince. This move is one of many, as Milwaukee also remains linked to potential talks involving Myles Turner a sign that the front office is still looking for ways to improve.

As Horst continues to tweak the roster, it’s clear Milwaukee is focused on adding veteran presence and postseason experience.
