Bucks-Heat Andrew Wiggins Trade Report Surfaces After Lakers News

Andrew Wiggins could be traded again this offseason. The Miami Heat are in a bit of a transition phase after ending the Jimmy Butler era, so it's not exactly clear if Wiggins is a long-term fixture in South Beach.

If the Heat are serious about building a contender again, using Wiggins to recoup some assets could be a step toward doing that. In that case, they may dangle Wiggins to return to the Eastern Conference's elite. Wiggins is an NBA champion, three years removed from making the All-Star game, and is coming off a season in which he averaged 18.0 points between Golden State and Miami.

Earlier this week, Anthony Irwin of ClutchPoints reported Los Angeles and Miami had moved closer on a Wiggins deal. Nothing was considered imminent, and just days after that news a new potential destination has emerged.

ClutchPoints' Brett Siegel reported the Milwaukee Bucks are a Wiggins suitor.

"There are a few teams existing as potential suitors for Wiggins, including the Los Angeles Lakers," Siegel wrote. "The two teams have spoken about Wiggins, yet there aren't any indications that the Heat and Lakers are progressing on a trade involving the former first-overall pick... Another team that has expressed a level of interest in Wiggins is the Milwaukee Bucks, sources said.

The Heat have made Andrew Wiggins available in trade talks.

Wing depth might not necessarily be the Lakers' most significant offseason need, but he is an upgrade over their wings on the roster besides LeBron James. The one edge Los Angeles has over Milwaukee is their quantity of draft assets, as the Bucks have only one first-round pick compared to the Lakers having five.
