Bucks’ Kyle Kuzma speaks out on frustrating Knicks star in big home win

The Milwaukee Bucks picked up their third win in the 2025-26 NBA regular season on Tuesday, as they humbled the visiting New York Knicks at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee.

The 121-111 victory over Karl-Anthony Towns was mostly powered by none other than two-time NBA Most Valuable Player Giannis Antetokounmpo, as he finished with a game-high 37 points to go with eight rebounds, seven assists, two blocks and a steal in 33 minutes. Ryan Rollins also turned heads with a 25-point contribution to the Bucks, who improved to 3-1 overall.

But many others also contributed to Milwaukee’s win.

Kuzma sounds off on his defense against Knicks star in Bucks win

Kyle Kuzma only had five points, all coming from the free-throw line, as he went 0-for-2 from the field, but his defense on Knicks star big man Karl-Anthony Towns can’t be overlooked.

Following the game, Kuzma spoke about his defensive job on the five-time NBA All-Star.

“I’ve been in the league long enough, played Towns long enough, to understand what he wants to do,” Kuzma said during an interview after the contest (h/t New York Basketball X account). “Lot of time guys who are physical don’t want you to be physical…probably frustrated him a little bit”

Towns had one of those nights against the Bucks offensively, as he only coughed up eight points on a salty 2-for-12 shooting from the floor. Towns missed all three of his attempts from behind the arc, though, he managed to grab 12 boards in 35 minutes of action.

Although not known for his defense, Kuzma has a 110.0 defensive rating so far in the 2025 season — tied for second-best on the team among players with regular minutes.
