The Milwaukee Bucks have something special in guard Ryan Rollins.
The former Toledo Rockets star was quite a find for Milwaukee, which signed Rollins to a contract late in the 2024-25 NBA season before inking him to a new three-year, $12 million contract in the summer.
So far in the 2025-26 NBA season, Rollins is proving that the Bucks were right to invest in him, as he’s been providing Milwaukee with ample scoring and playmaking in support of superstar forward Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Rollins also turned lots of heads when he put together a sterling performance in leading Milwaukee to a 120-110 win at home over Draymond Green and the Golden State Warriors last Thursday.
During a recent episode of his podcast, Warriors star forward Draymond Green shared a story about a particular moment in a meeting with the Bucks involving him and Rollins. After Rollins ‘leveled’ Curry, Green said that he was going to get back at the Bucks guard.
“So the next play down, Ryan drives in the lane and I come all the way off the corner and just like showed him. They call the foul, they take it out on the side. The next play down the court, he’s picking up four. I come with a screen and I whack it.” Green said.
However, Rollins was seemingly unbothered by Green’s physical play.
Green continued: “And funny, I told Ryan, I said, you know, we were standing at the free throw line talking. I said, ‘I told you I was going to get you.’ He was like, ‘Yeah’, but you know how I’m cut. ‘I ain’t backing down from none of that’. I said, ‘I know, I didn’t expect you to back down.’ I said, ‘What you should also know is that if I ain’t love you, I would have laid you out there, but I just needed to get a good screen on you so you felt it.’

The 23-year-old Ryan appears to be having his breakout season in the NBA. Against the Warriors, he set a new career-high of 32 points, shooting 13-for-21 from the field while dishing out eight assists in 36 minutes of action.
While others probably would have backed down and retreated into their shell after getting such treatment from a veteran like Green, Rollins simply went ahead with his business and continued to make the night difficult for Golden State.
