Bucks, Serge Ibaka Agree to Search for Trade
Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

The Bucks and veteran center/forward Serge Ibaka have agreed to seek a trade and find him a new hoops home, per Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Ibaka, 33, has been away from the team for six straight games for personal reasons. While Ibaka’s game has been in steady decline in recent seasons, his one-year salary for the veteran’s minimum may have another team taking a flyer ahead of the Feb. 9 trade deadline.

This season, Ibaka has appeared in 16 games and compiled averages of 4.1 points and 3.8 rebounds. But playing time behind the likes of Giannis Antetokounmpo, Brook Lopez and Bobby Portis and even Jordan Nwora has been scarce.

Ibaka was acquired by the Bucks as part of a multi-team deal involving the Clippers at the trade deadline last season. He has also spent time with the Thunder, Magic and Raptors after being drafted by the old Seattle SuperSonics (now Thunder) with the No. 24 overall pick in the 2008 NBA Draft.
