The Los Angeles Clippers dominated a depleted Milwaukee Bucks squad on Monday night, cruising to a 129-96 victory and improving their record to 36-36. Returning to .500 after a two-game winning streak, Los Angeles seems to have regained some of the momentum it lost earlier in the month.

While defeating the Bucks without Giannis Antetokounmpo might be expected for a team with playoff ambitions, the 33-point blowout highlights just how dominant the Los Angeles Clippers can be when firing on all cylinders.

The Bucks have been a puzzling team to follow this season. While it is clear that Giannis Antetokounmpo will only stay if the team can contend, the organization’s moves have often suggested a different approach.

Although Giannis Antetokounmpo’s injuries have clearly hurt the Bucks’s playoff hopes this season, the front office’s choices have also drawn scrutiny. With the recent decision to waive Cam Thomas, a talented scorer with room to grow, fresh questions are emerging about the team’s long-term direction.

The Bucks terrible season continues against the Clippers

With a 29-42 record, the Bucks, currently in eleventh place in the Eastern Conference, face an uphill battle to reach the play-in tournament. Reports suggesting the team has tried to convince Giannis Antetokounmpo to sit out the remainder of the season indicate that Milwaukee has effectively abandoned its hopes of making a postseason push this year.

As for the Clippers, they have displayed impressive determination this season. Despite a rough start at 6-21, they have steadily worked their way back into the play-in conversation. With a talented roster now fully assembled, Los Angeles has the ability to be a legitimate playoff contender. Since the All-Star break, the Clippers have emerged as one of the most efficient and high-scoring offenses in the league with a 119.6 offensive rating (3rd in the NBA).

The Clippers’ resurgence stands in stark contrast to Milwaukee’s unraveling season. While Los Angeles has clawed its way back from the brink with a 30-15 record since their dismal start, the Bucks appear to be shutting things down entirely.
