Buddy Hield drops ‘silent killer’ praise on Jimmy Butler

Since becoming teammates, Hield and Butler have shared a terrific relationship. More often than not, the two Warriors stars have taken light-hearted jabs at each other.

However, this time around, Hield spoke to the media about Butler’s dominant performance in a recent practice session.

“Jimmy dominated practice today. It was great for him. He looked really good and professional today. It was great. Great energy,” Hield said, via NBC Sports Bay Area.

“I just think he took it up a notch today. He wasn’t chirping like the Jimmy we know of. He was a silent killer, and his work speaks for itself,” he added.

Butler is known for talking trash on the court, but ahead of Year 15 in the NBA, it seems like the Warriors star has opted in for a different approach.

It will be exciting to see this version of Butler, as it will back Steve Kerr’s statement about the Warriors’ reduction in reliance on Stephen Curry.

With Butler turning 36, it’s obvious that his championship window is shrinking with each season. Playing with the likes of Curry and Draymond Green is arguably his best chance at becoming an NBA champion.

While Jimmy wants to lift the Larry O’Brien trophy, his reason is certainly surprising.

“It would mean the world to me, but it would mean the world to me if they won. They’ve already solidified themselves in basketball fame, and in the league, we get that.

“But to separate themselves from other individuals – you get five, like, you’re there. You know? No doubting, you can’t question it,” Butler said on the Dubs Talk.

Now, that’s an impressive goal and likely a huge reason why Butler is so happy on the Warriors after burning his bridges with the Miami Heat last season.
