Each team has a representative during the Draft Lottery. It’s either an executive, player, or legend. Kukoc will bear witness to the secret drawing of the ping pong balls to determine the top four draft picks. Then, Kukoc will be live on stage with the other representatives for the unveiling of the results.
The Bulls have a 20.3% chance of securing one of the top four picks. They have a 4.5% chance of securing the No. 1 pick. Already, the Bulls have two top 15 picks locked in for the upcoming NBA Draft. This was due to the Portland Trail Blazers defeating the Los Angeles Clippers in the NBA Play-In tournament.
Kukoc played for the Bulls from 1993 to 2000. He was an integral part of the second Bulls three-peat from 1996 to 1998. In 1996, the same year the Bulls won 72 games, he was named the Sixth Man of the Year.
Fast forward, and the Bulls are in the midst of a real restructuring coming off a 31-51 season. On Monday, Chicago hired Bryson Graham as the Executive VP of Basketball Operations following the firings of Arturas Karnisovas and GM Marc Eversley in April. That same month, head coach Billy Donovan stepped down.
The search remains on for a new head coach and GM.
The NBA Draft Lottery is at 2:00 pm CST/3:00 pm EST.
