The Chicago Bulls traveled to the City of Brotherly Love on Monday night to take on the Philadelphia 76ers. The Bulls wound up beating the 76ers, 142-110.
It was a battle between two of the worst teams in the league on Monday night as both the 76ers and Bulls rank at the bottom in the Eastern Conference.
Both teams were missing their starting big men. The 76ers were without former MVP Joel Embiid and the Bulls were without Nikola Vucevic due to tightness in his right calf. The Bulls were also without Jalen Smith (concussion) and Ayo Dosunmu who is battling a shoulder injury.
Bulls fans knew how the rest of the game went based on the events in the first quarter. Kevin Huerter got his first start in a Bulls uniform due to Coby White bleeding from his finger just moments before tip-off.

This impromptu start for Huerter was just what he needed to get going on Monday night. In his first 10 minutes, he scored eight points by way of two three-pointers. Josh Giddey was a menace on the boards, bringing down five rebounds in the first quarter as well.
Chicago only averages about 18 free throw attempts per game, but on Monday they had 14 free throw attempts in the first quarter alone. Lackadaisical ball screen defense and on-ball pressure from Philly led to easy lanes to the basket and resulted in loads of free-throw attempts for the Bulls.
The Bulls went into the second quarter leading 39-30 and didn't stop there. Josh Giddey scored 15 points in the frame and Matas Buzelis scored nine of his own. Although there was only six free-throw attempts, the Bulls scored 18 points in the paint and led at half, 75-58.

The Bulls put up their highest scoring first quarter (39) and first half (75) of the season, but they didn't stop there. Due to a laceration on Lonzo Ball's head, Huerter got to start the second half as well.
This proved to be a great move by Head Coach Billy Donovan as Huerter came out in the third and hit three more three-pointers. This brought his total up to seven made three-pointers made for the game.

The third quarter was finished out by Dalen Terry who was making plays on defense and tied his career high with 17 points. Terry made two dunks (one after the whistle) that continued to inject life into this Bulls team. Bulls led after three frames, 115-76.

The fourth quarter flew by as the Bulls led by as many as 50 at one point. Philadelphia simply could not get it going as they shot 25% from beyond the arc as a team and only 38% from the field. The 76ers were led by Paul George and Kelly Oubre Jr. who both had 19 points.
The Bulls were led by Josh Giddey, who finished with 25 points, 16 rebounds, and six assists along with four STOCKS (steals and blocks). Huerter chipped in 23 by way of seven three-pointers and White, Terry, Buzelis, and Zach Collins all scored 15 or more. The Bulls blew out the 76ers, 142-110.
After beating the 76ers by 34 points and snapping a six-game losing streak, the Bulls look to string together another win as they travel back to the United Center on Wednesday night to face the Los Angeles Clippers. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. CT.
