The Chicago Bulls unexpectedly defeated the Los Angeles Lakers 146 to 115. From Every Bull helped secure the victory. Lakers’ stars Luka Dončić and LeBron James returned to the court after missing their previous game. The Bulls also had a key player back in action, Josh Giddey. Since trading for Dončić, the Lakers have looked like title contenders, making a Bulls win all the more enjoyable for fans. The game, however, didn’t start that way.

Dončić effortlessly scored 17 points in the first quarter. Yet for every point Dončić scored, Coby White nearly matched with 16 points of his own. Matas Buzelis also joined the action, crossing over Dončić and driving to the rim for what broadcaster Stacey King calls a “Chi-Slamma-Jamma.” Despite a rough start from the rest of the Bulls, White was the driving force, keeping the team competitive.

In the second quarter, Austin Reaves joined Dončić’s potent offense, scoring 12 points and shooting 71.4% from the field. White slowed down a bit this quarter, but the rest of the team rose to the occasion. Although Dončić added another 12 points, the Bulls ramped up their defensive intensity, forcing Dončić to turn the ball over. The Bulls finished the first half with a three-point lead.

The game took on a more spirited tone in the third quarter as Giddey and Dončić got into a scuffle, resulting in Dončić receiving a technical foul. The Bulls didn’t back down. Kevin Huerter managed 10 points with quick cuts to the basket. Additionally, White found his rhythm again, scoring 12 points. Giddey and Nikola Vučević ran the offense effectively with a combined nine assists. It was clear the Lakers felt defeated.

As the final quarter began, the Bulls continued strong, extending their lead to 18 points with a Giddey three-pointer. Lakers' coach JJ Redick waved the white flag and pulled his starters. At this point, everyone was eagerly watching to see if Giddey would make history by recording the fifth-ever quadruple-double. Unfortunately, Giddey left the game just two steals short due to the Bulls’ caution regarding his ankle injury.
