According to a report  from NBA insider Jake L. Fischer, Jevon Carter has decided to exercise his $6.8 million player option early, despite having until June 29th to make his decision.

Carter signed a three-year contract in the 2023 offseason, and many expected him to take on a complementary role alongside DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine after a promising season with the Milwaukee Bucks. However, those expectations did not come to fruition.

The Maywood native has averaged 4.7 points, 0.9 rebounds, 1.2 assists, and 12.3 minutes per game during his two seasons with the Bulls. As the team shifts towards a youth movement, Carter has taken on a mentorship role for his teammates from the bench.
