After the buzz of the Chicago Bulls adding Matas Buzelis in the 2024 NBA Draft focus has now shifted. Players and teams with options on contracts now are able to exercise them.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski, Bulls forward Torrey Craig picked up his player option. It will come at a cost of $2.8 million next year.

Craig picking up his option is a little of a surprise. As the Bulls shift into either a rebuild or a retool following the Alex Caruso trade, it is surprising Craig wouldn’t want to go get a deal roughly at the same price with a contender.

Craig had a solid year in 2024 averaging 5.7 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 1.1 assists. This is in line with his career averages. Where Craig provided a bossy on the Bulls roster was his three-point shooting where he shot 39.2%. The Bulls are still lacking in this area so his returned presence will help spread the floor.

His one flaw in last year was he only appeared in 53 games. The Bulls were noticeably missing depth at the forward position.

With Craig now back in the fold, the Bulls will wait to see what Andre Drummond will do with his player option. Previous reports have indicated that he may be looking elsewhere other than Chicago.
