An update has emerged regarding Cade Cunningham following the Detroit Pistons' shootaround this Wednesday, with the team scheduled to take on the Chicago Bulls at 8:00 PM ET.
Cunningham has been dealing with a hip contusion following his exit from Detroit’s overtime win over the Washington Wizards on Monday. The point guard had to be helped off the court after a hard fall that saw him land on his tailbone, but he returned for the OT period.
He logged 46 points, 12 rebounds, 11 assists and five steals in the outing.
Cunningham, who has been key for the Pistons this season, is currently listed as questionable ahead of tonight’s game.
According to Pistons reporter Omari Sankofa II, the 24-year-old was not present at shootaround on Wednesday. Sankofa also noted that Jalen Duren was absent; the center is nursing a right ankle sprain and is listed as probable.
“Shootaround just wrapped up at the PPC. Light crowd today, don’t see Cade (left hip contusion; questionable) or Duren (right ankle sprain; probable). Stewart, Harris and Thompson are all out with Ivey and Sasser as well,” Sankofa reported.

The no-show at shootaround doesn’t necessarily mean the players will miss tonight’s game. They could have been receiving treatment or simply being rested.
Cunningham, a first-time All-Star and All-NBA Third Team selection last season, has been averaging 27.5 points, 9.9 assists and 5.4 rebounds per game this season, shooting 43.6 percent from the field.
Whether he plays on Wednesday remains to be seen.
