Cade Cunningham and the Detroit Pistons have gotten off to a phenomenal start to the NBA season as their 11-2 record is the second best in the league, trailing only the defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder (13-1).

While Cunningham was selected to his first-career NBA All-Star team last season, he is on pace for the best year of his career. In the 11 games he has played, he is averaging 27.5 points, 5.4 rebounds and 9.9 assists per game, while shooting 43.6% from the field. Unfortunately for both him and the Pistons, a left hip contusion has held him out of the past two games.

Despite him being listed as questionable for the team's Monday night game against the Indiana Pacers, Cunningham was a part of a pretty significant announcement on Monday.

As revealed by NBA insider Shams Charania, Cunningham inked a six-year deal to re-sign with Nike and will be receiving a signature shoe.

It's an honor Charania confirmed makes him just the sixth active player in the league with a signature Nike shoe, joining the likes of LeBron James and Kevin Durant.

"Cunningham becomes the sixth active NBA player to have a signature shoe deal with Nike, joining LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Ja Morant, Devin Booker and Giannis Antetokounmpo," wrote Charania on X.

At 24, the former No. 1 overall pick seems to be on track to be one of the young faces of the league, and this is certainly a step in the right direction.

The game between the Pacers and Pistons will tip at 7:30 p.m. ET.
