The Chicago Bulls are excited to jump-start the Caleb Wilson era as the NBA Summer League begins on July 10 in Las Vegas. Wilson, the No.4 pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, will get to show what he’s made of before the season begins.
On Monday, Wilson took part in a Bulls practice before heading to Las Vegas. After practice, Wilson openly admitted that he felt “jitters” as he hadn’t picked up a ball in an organized setting in months, per
Elias Schuster of Sports Illustrated.
“I’ll be playing on July 10,” Wilson said. “I’ve been waiting on this opportunity for a very long time. It’s kind of surreal to see how fast it all went but I’m definitely excited to play. I feel like when I play out there just like when I played today, it’s kind a lot little jitters because I haven’t played in so long, but I’ll be good.”
Caleb Wilson said he’s been thinking about mid-July Summer League ever since his UNC season ended short.

Wilson has been celebrated as the generational young talent the Bulls have been looking for. He had a standout first year at North Carolina, where he averaged 19.8 points and 9.4 rebounds per game.
Wilson provides significant excitement and a tireless work ethic that fans will appreciate. At 6-foot-10, Wilson is the perfect archetype for executive Bryson Graham’s SLAP acronym: Size, Length, Athleticism, and Physicality.
Meanwhile, new head coach Tiago Splitter will coach the first two Summer League games. He is looking forward to seeing what Wilson and No. 15 overall pick Dailyn Swain will do at the outset, per K.C. Johnson of The Chicago Sports Network.
“I want to set the tone, especially having guys like Caleb and Dailyn,” Splitter said. “They’re going to be important for this organization.”
