The Golden State Warriors needed to turn in a collective effort in Game 3 against the Minnesota Timberwolves with Steph Curry sidelined with a hamstring injury.
Unfortunately for the Warriors, they fell short on Saturday night as the Minnesota Timberwolves scored a 102-97 win at Chase Center to take a 2-1 series lead.
Draymond Green was one of the stars who was expected to step it up for the Warriors with Curry forced to sit out the game. This wasn't the case for the former Defensive Player of the Year, though, as Green finished with just two points on 1-of-4 shooting, two rebounds, four assists, two steals and five turnovers before fouling out with more than four minutes to go in the game.
It was far from a spectacular performance from the four-time All-Star, and more than a few Warriors fans have started to pin the blame on Green following the tough loss. So much so that some supporters have demanded that Golden State part ways with the four-time NBA champion.
"Get rid of green he is useless to the team," a comment on X read.
"Draymond has lost it ♂️" said another.
"next season they really need to trade players including Draymond..." reacted a user.
"Plz trade green next season," demanded a fan.
"Draymond gonna be Draymond. Most undisciplined player in league history," another said.
"Stop putting this (expletive) Draymond Green with my goat Steph Curry. Dude needs to go offseason," declared a supporter.
For what it's worth, Green is still under contract with the Warriors through 2027, which means the only way he'll be gone next season is if Golden State decides to trade or waive him this summer.
The silver lining for Green is that this series still has a long way to go. He's been down before, and he's been able to get back up time and time again. Green will need to do that again in this series with the Warriors' season on the line.
