There has been a lot of controversy surrounding the Denver Nuggets' 2024–25 NBA season. Particularly as the season nears its conclusion, the problems have intensified.
At the moment, the team holds a record of 47–32, positioning them No. 5 in the Western Conference.
Despite a strong start, the Nuggets have recently encountered challenges, including a four-game losing streak that has impacted their playoff positioning. The team has dropped from the No. 3 position to the No. 5 position.
In their latest game, the team faced the Indiana Pacers at home at Ball Arena. Despite an amazing performance from Nikola Jokic, who scored 41 points, the Nuggets fell short, losing 125–120.
After this defeat, the Nuggets organization made the strange decision to fire head coach Michael Malone. In addition to firing coach Malone, the Nuggets also announced that general manager Calvin Booth’s contract would not be renewed.
Malone, the franchise’s most successful coach, led the team to its first NBA championship in 2023. Moreover, he secured playoff appearances in each of the past seven seasons.
In response to his dismissal, the now-ex-Denver general manager talked to reporters and told them how he felt about the decision the team made.
“I don’t have any regrets. I did my job to the best of my ability.”

His candid remark reflects a sense of fulfillment in his contributions to the Nuggets, despite the organization’s decision to part ways.
With the Nuggets going through a bit of a transition, they've brought in assistant coach David Adelman to take the reins as interim head coach for the rest of the season.
The Nuggets’ next challenge is a crucial matchup against the Sacramento Kings at Golden 1 Center. This game offers the team a chance to turn around their recent struggles and boost their confidence ahead of the postseason..
