Reddish, a small forward and shooting guard, had plenty of potential as a high school basketball player at the Haverford School in Haverford, Pennsylvania, and the Westtown School in West Chester, Penn. He was subsequently named a five-star recruit.

Reddish played college basketball at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, for just one season from 2018 to 2019. The Atlanta Hawks selected him with the 10th overall pick in the first round of the 2019 NBA Draft. He played three seasons for the Hawks from 2019 to 2022.
