Former Los Angeles Lakers Small Forward Cam Reddish is reportedly working out for the Dallas Mavericks. Reddish, 25, last played for the Lakers during the 2024-25 NBA season. Reddish is seeking a return to the NBA. Read on for further details.
Cam Reddish is seeking a return to the NBA, while the Dallas Mavericks are currently hosting a mini-camp for potential free agent signings. If successful, this would be a win-win situation for both parties. The Mavericks’ minicamp is set to take place on June 9 and 10. The team’s minicamp has been shining a light on several NBA veterans, such as Reddish, who are looking for a spot on an NBA roster.
Cam Reddish’s career started strong but became wishy-washy. Reddish, a small forward and shooting guard, had plenty of potential as a high school basketball player at the Haverford School in Haverford, Pennsylvania, and the Westtown School in West Chester, Penn. He was subsequently named a five-star recruit.
Reddish played college basketball at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, for just one season from 2018 to 2019. The Atlanta Hawks selected him with the 10th overall pick in the first round of the 2019 NBA Draft. He played three seasons for the Hawks from 2019 to 2022. He then played for the New York Knicks from 2022-23, the Portland Trail Blazers in 2023, and the Los Angeles Lakers from 2023-25.
Cam Reddish has bounced around the NBA. However, Reddish has shown potential, despite his brief stints with NBA teams. Reddish’s athleticism, defense, and shot creation are just a few of his positive qualities.
In the 2024-25 NBA season, Reddish averaged 8.5 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game. He averaged 4.5 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 0.9 assists in around 18 minutes per game as a Los Angeles Laker. He can continue to figure things out, but he must maintain his commitment to improving and showing why he deserves another chance on an NBA team’s roster.
