Carmelo Anthony wants Paolo Banchero to take a leap next season, he needs a new mentality

Carmelo Anthony spoke on his 7 PM in Brooklyn podcast about Paolo Banchero. Coming into the new season, Melo wants Banchero to show hunger.

Now that he has secured the extension, he must develop the right mentality and take a massive leap in quality and performance.

“Now we have to start doing the same thing we were doing with Ant to Paulo. He’s a young superstar who has an opportunity to take a major leap.

“This is the year that Paulo has to take that major leap. You already established yourself as the type of player that you’re going to be.

“Now, let’s tighten that up. Let’s get a different mentality. They have a team now. They have a good coach with Coach Mosley down there. Bane coming over there was a hell of a pickup. Jalen Suggs will be healthy.

“Paulo is in a prime position to take that next step. I’m not saying win the East or anything like that, but you have to go from seventh or eighth to the top three.”
