Cavaliers All-Star C Jarrett Allen exits vs. Raptors with left quad contusion

Jarrett Allen recently got to take part in his first career All-Star game, and it happened on his homecourt in Cleveland. During Sunday night's home contest against the Toronto Raptors, the 23-year-old center exited the game early with a left quad injury and didn't return to action.

Following three-plus seasons with the Brooklyn Nets to begin his career, Allen was traded to the Cavaliers in January 2021 in a massive four-team deal that also included the Houston Rockets and Indiana Pacers. James Harden was sent from the Rockets to Nets in the blockbuster.

After a promising rookie year with Brooklyn, Allen was entrenched in the team's starting lineup in 2018-2019 and averaged 10.9 points, 8.4 rebounds and 1.5 blocks over 80 games. Allen averaged a near double-double during the 2019-2020 regular season and shot 64.9% from the field and then registered 12.8 points, 10.0 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per contest between the Nets and Cavs last year.

In 55 games this season, Allen is currently averaging career-highs in points (16.3.) and rebounds per game (10.9), while posting a career-best 67.7% field goal percentage.
