We’ve got the Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Boston Celtics Game 5 Results according to NBA 2K24. The Celtics took a 3-1 lead in the series over the weekend. Meanwhile, Cleveland is dealing with some serious injuries affecting their best players. Is this Boston’s chance to end things now and rest before the Conference Finals? Or, will Cleveland pull off an incredible comeback without their best players?

Cavaliers vs. Celtics Conference Semi Finals Game 5 Results According To NBA 2K24

According to our NBA 2K24 Simulation, the Boston Celtics will defeat the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 5 by a score of 116-97. The Celtics easily dominated an injured Cavaliers team. They dominated in all phases of the game, even gaining has high as a 21-point lead in the game. The Cavaliers put up a solid effort without key stars early on, but ultimately folded in the 2nd half.

TEAM Quarter 1 Quarter 2 Quarter 3 Quarter 4 FINAL
Cavaliers 23 21 24 29 97
Celtics 31 25 26 34 116

One thing we’d like to address off the bat is that we were unable to prevent certain injured players from playing. Porzingis (BOS), Allen (CLE), and Mitchell (CLE) all saw time on the court, with their real-life status for Game 5 still in the air. We tried to create custom rosters to create accurate lineups. However, these only caused game crashes and some other insane technical glitches. As we look to fix this issue, we at least used the most up-to-date lineups from previous matchups to start the game.

Back to the game, it was relatively boring compared to other simulations. The Celtics just played better Basketball in all phases of the game. Furthermore, they dominated in almost every statistical category. They also scored 18 point off turnovers, while forcing 9 steals and seven blocks. The Cavaliers really only led in one category, which was time of possession.

In terms of player performances, Jayson Tatum proved why he’s one of the league’s best players. With 37 points, 11 assists, and a 50% 3PT success rate, Tatum led the Celtics to a swift victory. He’ll be crucial as the team heads to the Conference Finals once again. While he committed half of the team’s turnovers, it was a negligible error that obviously did not sway the results.

For the Cavaliers, no player scored more than 20 points on the night. In Donovan Mitchell’s absence, players like Darius Garland and Caris LeVert played fine, but not amazingly. It’s not easy for a team to lose their two best players and overcome an experienced Celtics team. At the end of the day, it’s nobody’s fault, as the Cavaliers were just victim of unfortunate circumstances. We’ll hope for a strong rebound next season.

Additionally, check out some game stats:

Cavaliers STAT Celtics
39/78 (50%) Field Goals 45/82 (55%)
11/26 (42%) Three Pointers 20/46 (43%)

With the win, the Boston Celtics defeat the Cleveland Cavaliers and advance to the Conference Finals. This victory marks their third Conference Finals appearance in a row, with a chance to make the NBA Finals again. Boston will now have to face either the Indiana Pacers or New York Knicks, but at least gets some time to rest. They’ll hope for their series to extend to seven games while their top players recover.

As for the Cleveland Cavaliers, their season ends on a strong note. Despite losing to the Celtics, the team played well despite the adversity they faced throughout the season. Furthermore, they have the pieces to continue and succeed for multiple seasons. If they can add more talent to surround Mitchell with, there’s a chance they see Boston again in a similar situation next season.

In terms of accuracy, we at least feel the scoreboard and shot conversion rates feel slightly more authentic. While we still want to fix the roster issue, we at least want to create entertaining simulations that feel like a real NBA game. Regardless, we had a blast watching this series unfold.
