Cavs considering discipline for fan who pushed Kyle Lowry

For the second time in less than a year, Kyle Lowry was shoved by a fan who was sitting courtside on Thursday night. As expected, that fan could be facing serious disciplinary action from the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Lowry was trying to save a ball from going out of bounds late in the fourth quarter of the Toronto Raptors’ win over the Cavs. He dove into the laps of two spectators, and one of them shoved Lowry with two hands as the star point guard was getting back to his feet. Lowry expressed frustration to reporters after the game.

According to a report from Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com, the Cavs and the NBA are reviewing the incident. They plan to look at multiple angles of the shove to determine if the fan acted maliciously, and it is possible the fan could be banned from attending events at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse for life.

You can’t blame Lowry for being angry. He was shoved by a fan during a similar play in the NBA Finals last year, and that “fan” ended up being Golden State Warriors minority owner Mark Stevens. Stevens was banned for the remainder of the playoffs and wrote a $500,000 check.
