The Cavaliers aren’t just talking about competing at the highest level anymore. They’re building it, too.
The organization unveiled new interior renderings on Monday of the Cleveland Clinic Global Peak Performance Center, hailed as a next-generation training facility that the team believes will place it firmly among the NBA’s elite when it opens in February 2027.
The 210,000-square-foot complex will sit along the Cuyahoga River in downtown Cleveland and is expected to be the largest indoor practice facility for any professional sports team in the country.
Designed by Populous with interior work by Pophouse, the building is being framed as a blend of basketball, science, recovery, and daily lifestyle support.

Beyond the obvious — multiple courts and cutting-edge training areas — the facility leans heavily into player wellness. The plans include dedicated nutrition and dining spaces, a recovery corridor linking hydro pools with treatment suites, and even an on-site barbershop.
The idea is simple, and that would be to remove friction from the daily grind and let players focus on basketball.
“We believe Cleveland is one of the premier destinations for professional basketball,” Cavs president of basketball operations Koby Altman said in a team statement. “Every detail of this facility was designed to fuel excellence.”
Construction has been moving quickly since breaking ground in October 2024, with more than 200,000 labor hours logged so far. The project is also tied to broader development along the riverfront through Bedrock’s mixed-use vision, which includes parks, public space, and year-round access to the waterfront.
It’s not just a practice facility. It’s a statement. And in the modern NBA, statements matter.
