The Cavaliers are rewarding a familiar face from their system.
Cleveland announced it has signed Darius Brown II to a two-way contract, giving the Cleveland Charge guard his first NBA deal.
Brown, 26, has been on the Cavs’ radar for a while. He went undrafted out of Utah State Aggies in 2024 and has spent time on Exhibit 10 contracts with Cleveland in each of the past two Octobers.
Since turning pro, he has appeared in 78 games for the Charge and has become a steady presence in the G League.
This season, Brown is averaging 12.4 points, 9.7 assists, 3.8 rebounds and 2.2 steals in 34 games. He is shooting nearly 40 percent from three and has been one of the Charge’s primary playmakers.
Brown will take over the two-way slot previously held by Emanuel Miller, who is being waived.
Miller’s time in Cleveland was brief and procedural. The 6-foot-5 Canadian forward was acquired in a three-team trade involving the Bulls and Kings to satisfy league transaction requirements. He did not appear in a game for the Cavs.
Miller made 11 NBA appearances with Chicago earlier this season and has been productive in the G League, averaging 17.4 points and 6.5 rebounds across 24 games with the Windy City Bulls and the Charge.
This likely makes the Cavs the first team in NBA history to have two Utah State products on the roster at the same time (Brown and Sam Merrill).
