Cavs’ Ty Jerome: No Preference On Pacers Or Bucks

We knew what guard Ty Jerome would say when asked if the Cavaliers had a preference on who they play next.

The question was asked by legend Jim Chones, a Cavs legend and longtime analyst on the team’s radio network. The options are the Indiana Pacers or Milwaukee Bucks in the Eastern Conference semifinals.

“No sir,” Jerome responded.

Chones replied: “That’s what I figured. But I wanted to see how you’d answer that.”

The Cavs, of course, are moving on after pummeling the Miami Heat in Game 4 of the opening round. Cleveland led by 39 at halftime and built the advantage to 60 — before finishing the job by a 138-83 count.

Meanwhile, the Pacers hold a 3-1 series lead over the Bucks, with Game 5 set for Tuesday night at Indiana. Should the Pacers take care of business, Game 1 of the East semis will take place at Rocket Arena. Word is, that series tips off either Saturday or Sunday.

So the Cavs are getting at least one extra day of rest thanks to the sweep.

They were never threatened by the Heat in Miami, winning Games 3 and 4 by a combined 92 points. They did it without Darius Garland, who has a sprained big toe. He is expected to be ready by Game 1 of the second round.

As for Game 4 of the first, Donovan Mitchell led the Cavs with 22 fairly easy points. De’Andre Hunter added 19, Jerome had 18, Evan Mobley 17, and Jarrett Allen 14 after starting the game with a steal and a dunk. And then, the Cavalanche was on.

So, yeah. Bring on whoever. Jerome and the Cavs don’t really care.
