Cavs waive Chris Livingston, create two-way spot

The Cavaliers have waived two-way forward Chris Livingston, per Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.

Livingston signed his two-way deal with Cleveland in late October but never found much of a foothold at the NBA level, appearing in just three games this season.

Most of his run came with the Cleveland Charge, where he showed flashes in the G League, averaging 16.1 points and 5.1 rebounds in 25 minutes per game across 16 contests.

The 58th overall pick in the 2023 draft, Livingston began his career with Milwaukee, the team that selected him. His time with the Bucks was limited, totaling 42 NBA appearances over two seasons and just 4.7 minutes per game.

Still, he made enough of an impression in Summer League last July to earn a one-year, minimum contract after being waived earlier in the offseason.

Roster math ultimately caught up to him there, and it now has again in Cleveland.

For the Cavs, the move opens up flexibility. With injuries continuing to test their depth, they can now bring in another two-way player to join Nae’Qwan Tomlin and Luke Travers.

Livingston is an Akron native who attended both Buchtel High School and Hudson Western Reserve Academy. He is represented by agent Rich Paul.
