The Celtics are acquiring veteran guard Malcolm Brogdon from the Pacers, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Brogdon has long been rumored to be on the move, and the defending Eastern Conference champion Celtics were on the lookout for a floor general. So on paper, it’s the perfect match.
In exchange for Brogdon, Boston is sending center Daniel Theis, guard/forward Aaron Nesmith and a 2023 first-round pick back to Indiana, per Wojnarowski.
Brogdon is widely considered one of the NBA’s most underrated point guards, a true pro and player who leads by example. That said, he has had trouble staying healthy. Last season, he appeared in just 36 games, averaging 19.1 points and 5.9 assists.
