Celtics All-Star sounds off on rumors swirling around team prior to Game 4

The Boston Celtics had their backs against the wall in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals. The result? They proceeded to do what the Los Angeles Lakers were unable to just 24 hours earlier - extend the series.

Although the Miami Heat stunned NBA fans by winning Games 1 and 2 in Boston and controlled home court with a Game 3 victory at home, the Celtics still managed to pull off an impressive 116-99 victory in Game 4.

With the series is set to head back to Boston for Game 5, Celtics guard Jaylen Brown made sure to address the many rumors that were swirling about the team prior to Tuesday's contest. From the outside looking it, all the rumors, reports and rumblings about the Celtics made it seem like the wheels were about to fall off entirely for one of the best teams in the NBA.

As NBC Sports Boston revealed, Brown did his best to shut down any chatter of negativity surrounding the Celtics.

"You start to hear all these stories come out about x, y, and z ... who knows where they actually come from. And 99 percent of them are not true at all." Brown said.

While Brown didn't directly cite any specific outside noise, one noteworthy storyline prior to Game 4 came in a statement from ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski on NBA Countdown.

"This team, this locker room, they never got over Ime Udoka's dismissal as head coach. These players did not accept the organization's reasoning for doing it, they thought it was a wild overreaction ... I think they felt they never got any more answers than the public was getting on this." Wojnarowski stated.

It would make sense for this to be what Brown was referencing, at least to some extent. The Celtics had a great regular season and seemed to mesh just fine under head coach Joe Mazzulla, who has also taken his fair share of criticism during this series against the Heat.

Regardless, whatever outside noise there is, Brown doesn't appear to be phased by it. He and the Celtics have a chance to pull off a huge Game 5 win back at home and if they do so, this series could very well flip back in Boston's favor.
