The Boston Celtics moved within one win of advancing to the second round after defeating the Orlando Magic 107-98 in Game 4 on Sunday. Jayson Tatum powered the effort with a game-high 37 points, while adding 14 rebounds, three assists, and three steals in a performance that kept Boston in control for much of the second half.
Tatum has been managing a right wrist injury since Game 1, which caused him to miss Game 2. Jaylen Brown has also been playing through a dislocated finger suffered in Game 3. Despite their physical limitations, both players delivered when it mattered most, combining for 58 points in the crucial Game 4 victory.
The Magic’s physical play has been a theme of the series, with Celtics players repeatedly hitting the floor after hard fouls. Ahead of Game 5, the Celtics announced an official injury status for Brown.
Not listed due to his finger, Brown is on the injury report with a right knee posterior impingement that has him questionable to play.
Injury Report for tomorrow vs. Orlando:
— Boston Celtics (@celtics) April 28, 2025
Jaylen Brown (right knee posterior impingement) - QUESTIONABLE
Jrue Holiday (right hamstring strain) - OUT
All things considered, this is positive news, as Brown has been playing through the knee issue for weeks. Had the finger issue popped up on the injury report, it would have been more concerning for Celtics fans.
The Celtics now lead the series 3-1 as it shifts back to Boston for Game 5 on Tuesday. With both Tatum and Brown pushing through injuries, Boston will look to close out the Magic quickly and move forward in what they hope will be a long playoff run.
