Celtics guard Derrick White out Game 2 vs. Heat due to personal reasons

The Boston Celtics were without two starters during their Eastern Conference Finals Game 1 loss to the Miami Heat on Tuesday in Al Horford and Marcus Smart. The team received some good news on Wednesday when Smart was upgraded to probable for Thursday's Game 2 (though Horford was still listed as doubtful).

On Thursday morning, however, the Celtics announced that one of their key players off the bench will miss the important contest.

After spending the first four-plus seasons of his career with the San Antonio Spurs, White was acquired by Boston in a trade in February that sent Romeo Langford, Josh Richardson and a pair of draft picks to the Spurs. In 26 games (four starts) with the Celtics during the regular season, White averaged 11.0 points, 3.5 assists, 3.4 rebounds and 27.4 minutes per contest.

The 27-year-old has become an integral part of the team's playoff rotation, as he's one of just five players on the squad to appear in all 12 postseason contests thus far. White has averaged 6.7 points, 3.7 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 24.2 minutes during the playoffs and has posted a .347/.237.826 shooting line.
