The Boston Celtics have been involved in some trade rumors recently, and one of their star players talked about how he handles those rumors.

Jayson Tatum spoke with Celtics Wire’s Justin Quinn for an interview recently. Quinn asked the Celtics star how he handles trade rumors.

Tatum says the best way to deal with them is to ignore them.

“If you pay attention to everything you see on Twitter or TV, you drive yourself crazy. I think that’s just something that you have to learn just to keep your own sanity and your own peace. They will literally say anything, and some of it might be true, and there are other things that just couldn’t be further from the truth,” Tatum said.

“But, the average fan at home doesn’t know the difference, and they just might believe whatever they see. And it doesn’t help that people on the sports talk shows are talking about it every day and we don’t know who said it, so just control what you can control. That’s what I always live by.”

The rumors most recently affecting the Celtics had to deal with Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets. There were some reports that the Celtics were including Jaylen Brown in a trade offer to the Nets.

Durant remains with the Nets, while Brown now has to return to a team that he suspects was willing to deal him.

The Celtics are coming off an NBA Finals appearance. They also have some high expectations entering next season.
