The NBA offseason has started to pick back up over the last few days, with both the Los Angeles Clippers and Lakers making acquisitions on the buyout market with Bradley Beal and Marcus Smart, respectively. With the Clippers trending toward a more win-now trajectory as the Lakers aim to build around Luka Doncic going forward, both teams will still be contending near the top of the West.
While they've made some additions to their rosters this offseason, they have also had to let some players go. Even though he hasn't officially been signed by another team yet, a reunion with the Clippers for Ben Simmons seems out of the picture. The former NBA All-Star is set to look elsewhere for his next team, with a mix of teams trying to secure him.

While Simmons isn't the player he used to be during his time with the Philadelphia 76ers, his short stint with the Clippers showed he can be effective at times for his defensive abilities. Simmons could very well turn things around and become a productive player, and joining a low-expectation situation like the Knicks or Celtics could be the answer for that.
Simmons appeared in 51 games last season for the Clippers and Brooklyn Nets, averaging 5.0 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 5.6 assists per game. With the Summer League concluded, teams will be looking to fill out their rosters, and a decision from Simmons could be coming in the near future.
