The Boston Celtics are heading into the NBA playoffs as one of the top contenders to win the NBA title; they'll have a chance to defend their reign after winning the championship last season.

Boston sits at No. 2 in the Eastern Conference standings with a 59-21 record.

On Friday night, the Celtics were set for a matchup against the Charlotte Hornets. Charlotte entered the game ranked as the No. 14 team in the Eastern Conference standings with a 19-61 record.

Before the two faced off, the Celtics presented Holiday with the 2025 Red Auerbach Award. They posted the announcement on social media just after tip-off.

"Congratulations Jrue Holiday on being named the recipient of the 2025 Red Auerbach Award," posted the Celtics. "Thank you for exemplifying the spirit of what it means to be a Celtic through exceptional performance on and off the court."

The Red Auerbach award is presented each year to a player or coach who best exemplifies what it means to be a Celtic on and off the court.

During the season, Holiday has averaged 11.2 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game.

After a matchup against the Hornets on Friday, the Boston Celtics will close out the season with another game against Charlotte on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
