Boston Celtics point guard Jrue Holiday discussed facing his old team (the Milwaukee Bucks) Wednesday night for the first time since the September trade that sent him packing.

The two-time All-Star had a quick pit stop in Portland prior to landing in Beantown, as he was initially sent from the Bucks to the Trail Blazers in the Damian Lillard trade.
Milwaukee's breakup with Holiday came one day after he was quoted as saying "I don't want to play for any other team" and "I want to be in Milwaukee."
Portland shipped Holiday to Boston in exchange for Sixth Man of the Year guard Malcolm Brogdon, center Robert Williams a 2024 first-round pick and a 2029 first-round pick on Oct. 1, four days after the deal with the Bucks.
As the 33-year-old mentioned, Wednesday's tilt is a massive early-season matchup between Eastern Conference heavyweights. The Celtics enter the contest with the best record in the NBA at 11-3, while the Bucks are one game back at 10-4 and have won five straight.
Holiday is in his 15th season but has arguably been getting better with age. The three-time first-team All-Defender made his second All-Star team during the 2022-23 campaign and posted his highest scoring (19.3 points per game) and assist (7.4) averages in four years while recording a career-high 5.1 rebounds per contest as well.
Holiday was named first-team All-Defense last season and earned his third Twyman-Stokes Teammate of the Year Award, too.
The UCLA product leads Boston in assists per game (5.1) and he and forward Jayson Tatum are the only two Celtics to start all 14 contests thus far. Tatum is questionable for Wednesday's game due to a non-COVID-19 illness.
